Ema Datshi

Ema Datshi is known as national dish of Bhutan. It is made of chili and lot of locally made cheese using milk known as ‘’datshi’’. ‘Ema’ means chilli and ‘datshi’ means cheese in Bhutan. Usually in Bhutan it can be made using dried chills with lots of datshi. Bhutanese have adapt the trend of enjoy their meals with the chilies. And that what makes them different from the people in the Asian who prefer very less quantity of chills in the everyday meals.

Ingredients needed;

  • Chilies
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Datshi or we can even use any cheese that one can fine nearby…(taste can differ)
  • Corridor

 Procedures

  • Cut the chilies in four long shapes and roughly cut the tomatoes and onions.
  • Put all the vegetables in the pan in addition with the oil, salt and little water. And bring it to the boil.
  • Let the vegetables get cook and after the water gets dries up added cheese or datshi. Cover the pan and lower down the heat.
  • Take the pan out of the heat and add corridor on the top.
  • When heats gets cool, stir the cheese and vegetable nicely.
